As the monsoon begins, devotees of Lord Vitthal are drawn towards Pandharpur. For the Ashadhi Ekadashi Wari, devotees chant “Mauli Mauli” as they march toward Pandharpur. Over a thousand processions arrive from across Maharashtra for the Wari, with ten honorary palkhis and thousands of Warkaris singing devotional songs. Regardless of the weather – sun, rain, storm, or wind – the devotees press forward, driven by their love for Lord Vitthal. This year, Ashadhi Ekadashi falls on July 6, and the traditional Wari has already begun on foot.
