Pimpri, June 17, 2025: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate a series of cultural and infrastructure projects developed by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on June 18, 2025, at 10:30 AM. The event will witness the unveiling of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Namdev Maharaj group sculpture and the ‘Santsrushti’ spiritual complex built on the Pune–Alandi Palkhi route at Vadmukhwadi, along with the Santpeeth Auditorium and Art Gallery in Chikhali.

Key Highlights:

  • Sant Dnyaneshwar–Sant Namdev Maharaj Group Sculpture & ‘Santsrushti’ Inauguration:
    This landmark cultural installation features 25 bronze statues, including representations of Sant Namdev, Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Sopan, Sant Nivrutti, Sant Muktabai, and 20 Warkaris. The project also includes a stone platform, retaining wall, open-air theatre, landscaping, lighting, railing, and public toilets. The site is further enriched with 47 bronze murals depicting key events from saints’ lives, each accompanied by informative plaques.
  • Inauguration of Santpeeth Auditorium and Art Gallery, Chikhali:
    CM Fadnavis will also inaugurate the Santpeeth cultural complex built by PCMC in Chikhali. The building includes a ground floor and five upper floors spread across 13,161.71 sq.m, with 55 classrooms9 offices40 multi-use rooms (labs, computer rooms, music rooms, auditorium), 4 elevators, accessibility ramps for the differently-abled, and recreational space. A massive plantation drive of 1.5 lakh native trees will also be flagged off at the site.
  • Online Groundbreaking & Inaugurations from Chikhali Town Hall:
    After the Santpeeth event, CM Fadnavis will inaugurate and perform online foundation-laying ceremonies for several key civic developments and digital initiatives including:
    • Launch of “Jyeshthanubandh” App for senior citizens and Traffic Buddy WhatsApp system by Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.
    • Online ceremonies for the following civic works:
      • 12-meter DP Service Road along Express Highway from Mukai Chowk to Lodha Scheme (Part 1 & 2).
      • 18-meter DP road behind Symbiosis College from Kiwale main road to Express Highway.
      • Main road development and asphalting in Vikasnagar, Ward No. 16.
      • Urban streetscaping of road from Gawli Matha to Indrayani Nagar Chowk.
      • Door-to-door survey and socio-economic mapping of differently-abled citizens in Pimpri Chinchwad.
  • Civic Project Inaugurations:
    • Loop/Ramp on Sant Mother Teresa Flyover toward Chinchwad.
    • Thergaon-Chinchwad Bridge on Pavana River (18m DP road near Prasundham).
    • Sewage Treatment Plants in Chikhali (12 MLD) and Pimple Nilakh (15 MLD) under the AMRUT Scheme.
    • Climbing wall in Pimple Saudagar for mountaineering training.
    • School building at Reservation No. 2/122 in Dighi (Ward 4).
    • Fire station building at Chowvisawadi, Charholi (Ward 3).
    • Primary school building at Reservation No. 430 in Bhosari (Ward 7).
    • Central sterilization department at Thergaon and Bhosari hospitals.
    • Multi-level parking facility at Sakhubai Gawali Garden, Ward No. 5.

PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh shared details of the upcoming events and affirmed the administration’s commitment to promoting cultural heritage while enhancing civic infrastructure.
