Pune: Road Widening Between Kondhwa And Shivnerinagar Completed Near NIBM Road, Easing Traffic Woes
Pune, June 18, 2025 — The long-awaited road widening project between Kondhwa Khurd and Shivnerinagar has reached its final stage, bringing much-needed relief to local commuters. The completion is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion and curb accident risks in the area, drawing appreciation from residents.
The initiative was driven by continuous efforts from BJP Hadapsar Assembly General Secretary Akshay Shinde, who had been regularly following up with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The previously narrow and risky road had become a cause of concern due to the increasing population and frequent traffic jams, with a high potential for accidents.
Responding to these concerns, the PMC expedited the widening work, which is now fully completed. Local citizens have welcomed the move, expressing happiness over the improved road infrastructure.
Speaking on the development, Akshay Shinde stated that the next goal is to start PMPML bus services in the Shivnerinagar area to improve public transport connectivity. The new road is expected to ensure smoother traffic flow and enhance overall safety for both pedestrians and drivers in this fast-developing part of Pune.
