Inside Bengaluru’s Hacker House: Viral Video Showcases India’s Young AI Founders Living the Silicon Valley Dream
From a Steve Jobs poster to teenage coders building AI tools, this startup mansion is redefining India’s tech narrative
A viral video shot by Canadian entrepreneur and content creator Caleb Friesen is giving the internet major Silicon Valley vibes, but the twist? It’s all happening in Bengaluru, at a startup haven known as Localhost Hacker House.

In the now-trending clip, Caleb explores what looks like a quiet residential mansion, until he spots a Steve Jobs poster on the door and says with a laugh, “Oh yeah, it’s definitely the place.” Inside, he finds not just another co-working space, but a buzzing ecosystem of India’s youngest and brightest AI minds, some as young as 16 years old, all deep in code and creation.
Young India, Big Tech Dreams
The video introduces us to Suhas Sumukh, the 18-year-old heading the Bengaluru chapter of Localhost. Suhas gives a tour of the home-turned-lab, where laptops, cables, and brilliant ideas fill every corner. Some founders are seen coding from couches, some grouped around dining tables, while others are completely locked in on vertical monitors, building the next wave of India-made AI tools.
Among the most talked-about is Harish, a 16-year-old from Chennai, who is creating an assistive robot to help hardware developers. With eyes glued to his screen and fingers flying, Harish embodies a generation building before even stepping into college.
What’s Being Built Inside the Hacker House?
The Localhost Bengaluru mansion is host to a series of projects currently under development, including:
- AI voice agents tailored for Indian users
- Podcast discovery and community tool (Podcast Circle)
- Payment stacks designed specifically for AI workflows
- AR and AI glasses technology by dawnAR Technologies—whose builder was so focused he didn’t even notice Caleb filming right next to him
Founded by Kei Hayashi, Localhost is a global startup residency program designed for founders aged 16–22. It offers not just physical space, but also capital, travel grants, visa help, computing credits, and community support. The goal is to remove friction for young tech innovators, so they can build fast, solve hard problems, and scale globally.
The internet has fallen in love with the raw energy, diversity, and simplicity of the place. No fancy offices or VC gloss, just laptops, ideas, and a shared passion for building something that matters. Viewers are comparing it to early days of Silicon Valley garages, only this time, it’s India taking the lead.
As one commenter put it, “This is the India the world needs to see young, brilliant, and ready to build the future.”
With Bengaluru leading the charge and Localhost laying the groundwork, India’s next unicorn may just be getting coded on a beanbag at this very Hacker House.
