Pune, June 25, 2025:
In a major enforcement drive, authorities demolished illegal constructions spread across 48,000 square feet in the restricted 900-meter bomb dump zone designated by the Indian Air Force in Lohgaon (new municipal limits). The action was taken on June 24, 2025, following a series of official notices issued to the violators.

A total of 24 illegal structures were identified and served demolition notices prior to the operation. With no response or corrective action from the concerned parties, enforcement agencies moved ahead with the demolition.

According to officials, the structures included both RCC (reinforced cement concrete) and brick constructions, all built in violation of security protocols within the high-risk Air Force zone. The 900-meter zone is designated as a “no-construction” area due to its proximity to sensitive defense infrastructure.

The action was taken to ensure compliance with defense safety regulations and to prevent any threats arising from unauthorized habitation or construction within restricted military areas. Authorities have urged residents and developers to strictly adhere to zoning laws and avoid construction in prohibited areas.

Further monitoring and enforcement will continue to prevent re-encroachment in the sensitive zone.
