SpiceJet Dubai-Pune Flight Arrives Without Luggage; Passengers Left Stranded
SpiceJet Pune-Delhi Flight Faces 9-Hour Delay After Aborted Take-Off Due to Technical Snag

Chaos erupted at Pune Airport on Thursday morning after around 140 passengers arriving on SpiceJet flight SG 52/937 from Dubai discovered that their luggage had not been loaded onto the flight. The flight, which took off from Dubai around 2:00 AM after a delay and landed in Pune at approximately 6:40 AM, left passengers shocked and distressed.
Travellers were dismayed to find no trace of their baggage upon arrival. Despite repeated efforts to contact SpiceJet’s customer care, passengers said their calls went unanswered, and there were no airline staff at Pune Airport to assist them. The ground handling operations were reportedly outsourced, and passengers claimed they weren’t even provided formal complaint receipts — just informal forms with no reference numbers.
Boudhayan Sarbajna, a Pune resident, expressed outrage on social media, saying, “SpiceJet has offered absolutely pathetic service. My wife and many others have been left without a single belonging since morning. We’ve tried calling, emailing, and even posting on social media, but there has been no proper response. There were no actual SpiceJet officials at the airport—only outsourced staff—and no formal acknowledgment of our complaint.”
Sarbajna called on the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to take strict action and ensure passengers are compensated.
In response to his public complaint on platform X (formerly Twitter), SpiceJet replied: “Hi Boudhayan, kindly share the complaint copy via DM, which must be raised at the airport so that we may check and advise. Further, the customer care lines are working fine and calls are getting connected. However, the same is taking time due to extensive call flow. We regret any inconvenience caused.”
As of Thursday night, the luggage had still not reached Pune Airport, leaving passengers frustrated and demanding accountability from the airline.
