Pune, July 9, 2025: The nationwide strike called by major labour unions to protest against the government’s privatisation policies and new labour laws is expected to partially impact public services in Pune on Wednesday. While key sectors such as banking, postal services, and mining are joining the bandh, schools, colleges, and cooperative banks in the city will remain operational.

The bandh, supported by 10 prominent trade unions, aims to highlight opposition to “anti-worker and anti-farmer” policies. City-based organisations have joined the protest, raising concerns about disruptions to daily services.
