Pune, July 15, 2025: Panic gripped Pune after two unidentified men staged a daring robbery at the bungalow of Wing Commander Virendra Kumar Jandial in Jambhulkar Chowk, Wanowrie. The intruders fled with 40 tolas of gold and ₹8.5 lakh in cash in the early hours of Monday, sparking a city-wide alert.

The incident occurred around 2:30 am to 3:00 am at Kaushalya Bungalow when Wing Commander Jandial and his family were asleep. The masked robbers broke into the house, went straight to the bedroom, and restrained Jindal by covering his mouth before demanding the location of valuables. Armed with hammers and rod-like tools, they forcibly took the keys to the cupboard and made away with gold ornaments and cash.

Police teams rushed to the spot soon after the crime was reported and have launched a manhunt. Investigators are probing how the robbers managed to breach security and enter the house undetected. “This is a serious breach, and we are working on multiple leads to track the culprits,” a senior officer said.
