Nalasopara: A shocking incident unfolded in Nalasopara’s Pragati Nagar area when a father and his son brutally assaulted two traffic police constables right in the middle of the road. The entire episode, captured on camera by a bystander, has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and raising serious questions about the safety of on-duty police personnel.
According to reports, two traffic policemen were on duty in Pragati Nagar when they stopped a young man riding a scooter and asked for his driving licence. The rider allegedly failed to produce the document and immediately called his father to the spot. When the father arrived, police officers also inquired about his licence. This reportedly angered the father, leading to a heated argument between him and the policemen.
The argument quickly spiralled out of control, turning into a physical brawl. The father attacked one of the traffic policemen, and his son soon joined in, kicking and punching the officer. The duo then knocked the policeman to the ground and continued to beat him mercilessly, while the other constable’s attempts to intervene proved futile. Despite a large crowd gathering around them, nobody stepped in to stop the assault.
The video of this incident shows the traffic police officer being beaten as though he were an ordinary passerby, raising concerns over the growing audacity of citizens to attack law enforcement officials openly.
Following the incident, the Tulinj Police Station in Nalasopara registered a case against the accused — identified as Mangesh Narkar and his son Parth Narkar. The video of the assault continues to circulate widely on social media, further highlighting the gravity of the attack.
Police are now investigating the matter and have assured strict action against those involved. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the increasing challenges faced by police officers while carrying out their duties.
