BEST Bus Crash in Dadar Claims Young Man's Life
Bus loses control near Plaza Cinema, hits multiple vehicles; one dead and three injured.
A tragic road accident took place on Monday morning in Mumbai’s Dadar area when a BEST bus reportedly went out of control near Plaza Cinema and crashed into several vehicles.
The bus hit a car and a two-wheeler near Veer Kotwal Garden, causing panic in the busy area. Emergency teams quickly reached the spot and shifted the injured to Sion Hospital.
Hospital authorities confirmed that a young man, believed to be around 22 to 25 years old, lost his life in the accident. Another victim, Rishabh Gupta, suffered serious head injuries and is currently in critical condition.
Two others, including BEST inspector Satish Waghambare (48) and Mahesh Doiphode (50), sustained injuries and are receiving treatment.
The crash led to major traffic congestion in the area as rescue operations and vehicle removal work continued.
Police have detained the bus driver and launched an investigation to find out what caused the vehicle to lose control. Officials are also checking whether any mechanical fault played a role in the accident.
The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety on Mumbai’s busy roads.
