14-Year-Old Girl Dies After Sudden Collapse While Playing; Heart Attack Suspected
Rajkot, Gujarat: A 14-year-old girl from Jamnagar tragically died after suddenly collapsing while playing with friends at a restaurant in Rajkot on Sunday evening. Preliminary reports suggest she may have suffered a cardiac arrest, though the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
The deceased, identified as Anandi Modi, was staying at her maternal uncle’s residence in Rajkot during her summer vacation and the ongoing Purushottam month observances.
According to family members, Anandi had gone out for dinner with relatives at a local restaurant. After finishing her meal, she joined a group of children playing on the restaurant premises.
Witnesses said the children were engaged in a running game when Anandi suddenly slowed down and collapsed. Family members and other people present immediately rushed to help and took her to a nearby hospital.
Despite doctors’ efforts, the teenager could not be revived and was declared dead during treatment.
A video of the incident, which has surfaced on social media, reportedly shows the moment Anandi collapsed while running. Authorities are reviewing the footage as part of the investigation.
Doctors suspect the girl may have suffered a cardiac arrest, but officials said the exact cause of death will only be determined after a detailed medical examination and post-mortem report.
The incident has once again raised concerns over reports of sudden collapses among young individuals.
