Pune Metro Offers Free 'One Pune Student Pass' For Students Till September 15
Pune, July 24, 2025: With the completion of the first phase of the Pune Metro project, 29 stations are now operational, making Pune Metro a rapidly growing public transport option for Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The metro currently serves over 1.9 lakh daily commuters, a significant portion of whom are students.
As the new academic year begins in various educational institutions across the city, Pune Metro has announced a special initiative for students. From July 25 to September 15, 2025, the ‘One Pune Student Pass Card’ (KYC) will be issued free of cost to all students up to graduation level.
Ordinarily priced at ₹118 (₹100 + ₹18 GST), the student pass card will be completely free during this period. However, students must recharge the card with a minimum top-up of ₹200, which will be fully credited to the card without any deduction or fee.
Students using the pass will also receive a 30% discount on all metro rides during the validity of their travel. This initiative aims to make commuting easier and more affordable for students, promote the use of public transport, and foster a supportive and inclusive environment for the student community in Pune.
Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director of Maha Metro, stated:
“Students are using the metro in large numbers. With the new academic session starting, this special offer has been launched to encourage more students to take the metro pass. We urge all schools, colleges, and educational institutions along the metro routes to inform their students and help them avail this benefit.”
