Jecheon, South Korea – Shreyasi Joshi has etched her name in history by winning a gold medal in the Classic Slalom event at the 20th Asian Roller Skating Championships, becoming the first Indian ever to clinch top honours in this category.

The prestigious championship, being held in Jecheon, South Korea from July 19 to 30, witnessed a proud moment for India as the national anthem played during the medal ceremony. Shreyasi’s victory marks a breakthrough for Indian roller sports on the Asian stage.

Trained under coach Ashutosh Jagtap in Pune, Maharashtra, Shreyasi balances her sporting ambitions with academic excellence. She is currently in her third year of Computer Engineering at MIT Engineering College, Pune.
