PCMC’s YCM Hospital to Start B.Sc Nursing College with 60 Seats from 2025-26 Academic Year

Pimpri, August 2, 2025: The Maharashtra Government has approved the establishment of a B.Sc Nursing College with 60 seats under the Postgraduate Institute at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital, Pimpri. 

Named the Institute of Nursing Sciences, the college will operate from a newly constructed 11-storey building.

Initial proposals were cleared by PCMC’s Standing Committee and General Body in 2022. Following in-principle approval by the state on June 24, 2024, the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, granted First Temporary Affiliation on July 30, 2025, for the 2025–26 academic year.

The admission process will be handled by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) through the CET Cell. The new college aims to provide affordable nursing education, particularly benefiting local students and addressing the shortage of trained nursing professionals.

The initiative, led by PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh and Additional Commissioner Vijay Khorate, is expected to strengthen public healthcare and support women’s empowerment through skill-based education.
