Pune: Four Arrested for Assaulting On-Duty Policeman in Khadki During Night Patrol
Pune: FIR Registered Against Two Kalyani Nagar Eateries For Operating Without Mandatory Permissions
Pune, August 2, 2025: In a serious incident involving obstruction of official duty, the Pune City Police arrested four individuals for allegedly assaulting a police constable on duty near Church Chowk in Khadki on the Pune-Mumbai highway.
The incident took place around 8:45 PM on Thursday night, when Constable Gopal Gothwal, attached to the Pune Crime Branch, was conducting night patrolling along with Constable Kajale. The officers intercepted a group of bikers for rash and zigzag driving.
Police identified the accused, all residents of Bhosari and employed at a local salon. When confronted about their reckless riding, the four allegedly hurled abuses and physically assaulted Constable Gothwal. They also used abusive language against Constable Kajale.
Based on Gothwal’s complaint, an FIR was lodged at Khadki Police Station. The accused were arrested on Friday morning.
Police Sub-Inspector, who is investigating the case, confirmed that the four were booked under Sections 132, 121(1), 352, 281, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Authorities reiterated that any obstruction of government work, especially attacks on public servants, will be dealt with strictly under the law.
