Pune, August 11, 2025: Chakan has been grappling with severe electricity issues for the past several months, prompting representatives of the Federation of Chakan Industries, Dilip Batwal and Vinod Jain, to meet with Lokesh Chandra (IAS), Managing Director of MSEDCL, on August 8, 2025, at Prakash Bhavan, Senapati Bapat Road, Pune. Project Director Talewar and Director of Human Resources Rajendra Pawar were also present.

During the meeting, the Federation highlighted that MSEDCL’s infrastructure in the Chakan area is severely overloaded, leading to frequent power shortages. This situation has been affecting factories with repeated outages, fluctuations, and voltage dips, even on express feeders. Industries are facing rising machine maintenance costs, production losses, and raw material wastage, which in turn reduces MSEDCL’s revenue and causes significant financial losses.

Batwal pointed out that industries often provide land at their own cost for MSEDCL infrastructure such as switching stations and power stations, and spend lakhs of rupees on feeders, yet still face exploitation and unreliable power supply.

In response, Chandra assured that within the coming year, MSEDCL will significantly upgrade its infrastructure in the Chakan region to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality power. He also committed to maintaining stable electricity tariffs for the next five years, assuring industries that they will no longer face such persistent electricity issues.
