Nigdi Cyclothon 2026: Traffic Diversions Announced Across Pimpri-Chinchwad On June 7
Pimpri-Chinchwad, June 4, 2026: The Traffic Branch of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police has announced extensive traffic diversions and road restrictions in the Nigdi area on June 7, 2026, in view of the Indian Cycling Federation’s Cyclothon event.
According to the notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), a large number of cyclists are expected to participate in the event, necessitating temporary traffic management measures to ensure the safety of participants and smooth traffic movement.

The restrictions will remain in force from 5:00 am to 8:00 am, except for emergency service vehicles.
Several key roads in the Nigdi Traffic Division will be closed or partially restricted during the event. Major routes affected include:
- Bijlinagar Chowk to Sambhaji Chowk
- Krishna Pavbhaji Junction to Akurdi Railway Station Road
- Keralnagar Junction to K. Sadan Chowk
- Dharmaraj Chowk to K. Sadan Chowk
- PCMC College Junction to K. Sadan Chowk
- Big India Chowk to Hutatma Chowk
- Patidar Bhavan Junction to Hutatma Chowk
- Post Office Junction to Hongdewar Bhavan area
- Rotary Club Chowk to Sambhaji Chowk
- General Super Market–Gangangar Road stretch
- Amar Deep Sweets Junction to Mahatma Phule Chowk
- Akurdi Bhaji Mandai Road to Ambedkar Chowk
- Vitthal Mandir Junction to Ambedkar Chowk
- Khandoba Mal Chowk to Tilak Chowk
- Sawali Hotel to Tilak Chowk
- SBI Junction to Bhakti Shakti Bridge
- Bhakti Shakti Circle to Appu Ghar
- Sant Nirankari Bhavan Junction to Ankush Chowk
- Appu Ghar Chowk to Bhakti Shakti Chowk
Police have provided alternative routes for all affected stretches and advised motorists to use diversion roads to avoid inconvenience.
The traffic department has appealed to citizens to cooperate with authorities, plan their travel accordingly, and follow traffic advisories during the event. Adequate traffic personnel will be deployed along the route to guide commuters and ensure smooth traffic management.
The notification was issued by Vikrant Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pimpri-Chinchwad, who urged residents to use alternative routes and avoid the cyclothon corridor during the restricted hours.
