Pune: Kondhwa And NIBM Road Residents Seek Urgent Road Repairs Ahead Of Ganesh Festival
PUNE: With the Ganesh Festival approaching, local BJP leader Akshay Madanrao Shinde has urged the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to expedite essential civic works in key areas of Wanowrie and Kondhwa.
In a formal letter submitted to Assistant Municipal Commissioner Amol Pawar of the Wanowrie-Ramtekdi Ward Office, Shinde, who serves as the General Secretary of the BJP Hadapsar Vidhansabha, highlighted several pressing issues affecting residents. He requested immediate attention to road repairs, installation and maintenance of streetlights, and cleaning of sewage lines in Kondhwa Gaothan, Salunkhe Vihar Road, and the NIBM stretch.
Another resident of NIBM road stated that the road needs to be maintained at various locations near Natasha Enclave, Salunke vihar road, main Kondhwa road. Drainage chambers need to be realigned to the road level at various points.
Shinde emphasized that these areas witness heavy footfall during the Ganesh Festival, with thousands of devotees participating in festivities and processions. In such a scenario, poor roads, inadequate lighting, and clogged drainage not only inconvenience citizens but also pose safety and health risks.
He further appealed to the civic administration to complete these works on a priority basis to ensure smooth traffic movement, better sanitation, and enhanced safety for residents and visitors during the 10-day celebration.
Local residents have also welcomed the demand, hoping for swift action before the festival begins.
