Pune: Yewalewadi Road Gets Cleaner As 100 Volunteers Take Part In Cleanup Campaign
Pune, August 19, 2025: The World Mission Society Church of God organized a large-scale environmental cleanup campaign at Yewalewadi Road on August 17, drawing around 100 participants, including church members, families, and local residents.
Led by Pastor Manjunath Yadav, the initiative was part of the Church’s global campaign to combat pollution and protect ecosystems. Volunteers cleaned a 2 km stretch of Yewalewadi Road, collecting household waste such as plastic cups, wrappers, polythene bags, and other discarded items. Within two hours, the group managed to fill several large bags with garbage, making the area visibly cleaner.

Church representatives emphasized that such drives are held worldwide across 175 countries, with the aim of promoting community participation in environmental protection. The Church of God has been active in India for over 15 years, contributing through cleanliness drives, blood donation, disaster relief, and cultural activities.
Local participants expressed hope that more residents will join hands in future efforts to keep their neighborhoods clean and sustainable.
