Saiyaara, Mahavatar Narsimha to Son of Sardaar 2: Check When These Films Drop on OTT

Bollywood fans have had a busy couple of months at the theaters. From romance and comedy to sequels and even an animated mythological epic, a variety of films have hit the big screen since July. While some became box office successes, others failed to make a mark but still generated strong buzz for their eventual OTT debuts. 

Now, with most of them nearing the end of their theatrical run, here’s when viewers can expect to stream them at home.

Saiyaara OTT Release

Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year. Produced by Yash Raj Films, the romantic drama crossed the ₹500 crore mark at the box office, making it the highest-grossing Bollywood love story in recent times. Reports suggest the film will stream on Netflix, with its digital release expected around mid-September.

Mahavatar Narsimha OTT Release

India’s first animated mythological action film under the planned Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, Mahavatar Narsimha, was released in theaters on July 25, 2025. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film tells the story of Lord Vishnu’s half-man, half-lion avatar who saves Prahlad and defeats Hiranyakashipu. The movie is expected to make its OTT debut by late September 2025. However, the official announcement is yet to be made by Kleem Productions and Hombale Films.

War 2 OTT Release

War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, was released on August 14 but failed to meet box office expectations. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is part of YRF’s spy universe, with Kiara Advani playing the female lead and music by Pritam. Despite speculation about an early streaming release, reports confirm that War 2 will not arrive on Netflix before completing an eight-week theatrical window. This means its OTT release will take place only after October 10, 2025.

Dhadak 2 OTT Release

Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal, stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in a socially charged love story. Based on the Tamil classic Pariyerum Perumal, the film was praised for its sensitive handling of caste-based discrimination but failed to achieve strong commercial success. Reports say the film’s OTT release will also be on Netflix, likely between September 12 and September 26.

Son Of Sardaar 2 OTT Release

Ajay Devgn returned as Jassi in Son Of Sardaar 2, a sequel to the 2012 comedy. Alongside Devgn, the film stars Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, and Mukul Dev in his final role. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film clashed with Dhadak 2 at the box office and received mixed reviews. Reports indicate it will begin streaming on Netflix towards the end of September.

Metro In Dino OTT Release

Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, a spiritual sequel to Life In A Metro, won critical praise for its music and ensemble performances but did not perform well at the box office. Featuring Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher, the film is expected to arrive on Netflix between late August and early September.
