Pune, September 3, 2025: A district-level orientation workshop under the “Aadi Karmayogi Campaign,” initiated by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs to nurture grassroots leadership among tribal communities, was held today at the District Collector’s office in Pune.

As part of the campaign, government officers will serve as “Aadi Karmayogis,” while youth leaders, teachers, doctors, and social workers will act as “Aadi Sahayogis.” Local tribal leaders, volunteers, and women from self-help groups will function as “Aadi Saathis.”

In Pune district, 99 villages across Junnar, Ambegaon, Khed, Maval, Haveli, and Purandar talukas have been identified as tribal-dominated, with a total of 17,420 families and a population of 85,304. To ensure government schemes reach these citizens effectively, 30 trainees have been prepared for each cluster, supported by nine master trainers including District Tribal Development Project Officer Pradeep Desai.
