Bigg Boss 19: Amaal Mallik Opens Up on Money, Spending ₹1 Lakh a day and His Mother’s Concerns
The singer says he earns Rs.25 lakh in a night, spends ₹1 lakh a day, and faces criticism from his mother over his lifestyle.
Popular Bollywood singer and composer Amaal Mallik, currently a contestant on Bigg Boss 19, has made some candid revelations about his income and spending habits. Known for his chart-topping hits and musical versatility, Amaal shared that while he earns crores through shows and appearances, his extravagant lifestyle often worries his mother.
Earns in Crores, Spends in Lakhs
In a conversation with host Siddharth Kannan, Amaal disclosed that he can make ₹25 lakh from a single performance. However, his generous nature means he also spends freely — often ₹1 lakh in a single day and around ₹20,000 just on food bills.
“Sometimes after a show, when I go out with friends or my team, I spend without hesitation. I’m a very generous person that way. For me, money is just a means to an end, not something to cling to,” Amaal said.

Mother’s Disapproval
Despite his success, Amaal revealed that his mother is critical of his spending patterns. Having lived through financially difficult times in the past, she struggles to understand why he spends so lavishly.
“My mother will never understand why my food bill is ₹20,000 or why I suddenly spend ₹1 lakh in a day. She has a very different relationship with money because of what she’s seen in life. So I usually tell my father where I spend, but not my mother — because it upsets her,” Amaal admitted.
He recalled how his mother and grandfather once survived on just ₹500, following his father’s failed run in the music industry. That experience, he said, shaped her cautious approach to money and drives him to ensure their family never faces such hardships again.
Unpaid Dues in the Industry
Beyond his personal expenses, Amaal also highlighted the darker side of the music business. He revealed that he is still owed around ₹25 lakh in unpaid dues from producers. Surprisingly, he said it’s often the big producers who delay or withhold payments, while smaller, low-budget producers usually pay on time.

“There are many big names who don’t clear almost 40% of your payment. But smaller producers, even with limited budgets, honour their commitments. As long as there’s intent, I don’t mind working with them,” he said.
Living in the Moment
Despite his mother’s disapproval and the uncertainties of the industry, Amaal insists on living in the present and celebrating life with what he earns. “I don’t feel the need to hold on tightly to money. God has been kind, and sometimes you can make in one night what others struggle to make in months,” he added.
