Maruti Suzuki Victoris SUV Unveiled to Rival Hyundai Creta
The brand’s new flagship SUV under the Arena umbrella comes packed with first-ever features, hybrid and CNG powertrains, and a premium equipment list.
Maruti Suzuki has finally revealed its much-anticipated mid-size SUV, the Victoris, positioned as the brand’s flagship under the Arena umbrella. Initially rumored to be a 3-row Escudo, the Victoris has arrived as a 5-seater, directly challenging the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, and Tata Harrier.
The Victoris introduces several firsts for Maruti Suzuki. Most notable is the Level-2 ADAS suite, making it the brand’s first model to feature advanced safety tech such as emergency braking, lane keeping aid, and adaptive cruise control. Another key highlight is the dual-cylinder CNG setup, where the tank is tucked under the boot floor, ensuring a more practical luggage space.
Other premium additions include a powered tailgate with kick-to-open gesture control, a Dolby Atmos 8-speaker Infinity surround system, a 64-colour ambient lighting setup, a head-up display, and an air purifier.
On dimensions, the Victoris is slightly larger in length, height, and width than the Creta, though the Creta holds a marginal edge in wheelbase. Under the hood, Maruti plays to its strengths with CNG and hybrid powertrains, along with all-wheel-drive options. In contrast, the Creta continues to appeal to performance-seekers with its turbo-petrol and diesel engines.
Pricing details are expected around Diwali 2025, with the Victoris likely to start from ₹9.75 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more affordable than the Hyundai Creta’s ₹11.11–20.92 lakh price range.
Conclusion:
The Victoris positions itself as Maruti Suzuki’s ‘halo’ product with a focus on fuel efficiency, practicality, and first-ever features for the brand, making it an attractive alternative for cost-conscious buyers. The Creta, however, continues to hold ground with its stronger performance engines and some practical comforts like dual-zone climate control and reclining rear seats.
