Pune, September 9, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out a joint demolition drive on September 9, 2025, targeting unauthorized constructions on both sides of Baner Main Road. The action was undertaken by the Construction Development Department, Zone 3, along with the Aundh Regional Office, with support from the police.

During the drive, officials removed approximately 19,495 square feet of illegal structures, which included unauthorized shops, hotels, tin sheds, covered terraces, and permanent constructions.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of the Superintendent Engineer and Executive Engineer of Zone 3. A team comprising assistant engineers, junior engineers, staff members, and police officers executed the demolition.

Heavy machinery, including one JCB, one gas cutter, and ten encroachment workers, were deployed to ensure the smooth execution of the action.

PMC officials stated that the drive is part of the ongoing campaign to clear encroachments and restore order along major roads.
