Garbage free PCMC ?
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has taken up the task of spreading awareness on making the city plastic free.
Vikas Dhakne, additional commissioner, PCMC said, “On the occasion of World Environment Day, PCMC is organising an initiative to spread awareness on curbing use of plastic. A drive shall be organised from May 25 – June 5 in the city wherein awareness programs will be held in schools, colleges, restaurants, government offices as well as private companies, etc. Each one of us should stop using plastic.
A meeting was held today discuss about the initiative which saw attendance of Ravikiran Ghodke, assistant commissioner, Health officer Dr Anil Roy, and various representatives from private organisations.
Each one of us should share the ill effects of using plastic in life. Green Marshalls will take strict action against shopkeepers using plastic materials, added Dhakne.
A mega Ploggathon Drive will also be held on this occasion. Below are areas where the Ploggathon drive shall be held between 8 am to 10 am.
