Pune: PMRDA, PDRF Rescue 70 People As Flood Waters Enter Theur Village
Pune, September 15, 2025: Around 3 am on Monday, heavy flooding in the Haveli taluka’s Theur village, Rupe Vasti area, led to water entering nearly 150 homes. Approximately 100 residents were trapped due to the sudden rise in the stream.
On receiving the alert, teams from the PMRDA Wagholi Fire Station and the PDRF rushed to the spot. Acting swiftly, the rescue team safely evacuated 70 people stranded inside their homes.
Along with human rescue, several domestic animals including buffaloes, goats, and poultry were saved.
However, reports confirm that some animals were washed away or killed in the floods. Fortunately, no human casualties were reported.
Officials noted that timely and coordinated efforts of the PMRDA and PDRF teams prevented a major tragedy in the area.
