Pune, June 26, 2026: The father of slain realtor Ketan Agarwal has said that his family had informed Siya Goyal and her family that Ketan used a hair patch, rejecting claims that his appearance was concealed before their engagement.

Speaking after meeting Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Vishal Agarwal demanded the death penalty for those accused of murdering his son. He said he urged the Chief Minister to ensure the harshest possible punishment for the accused.

“I requested the Chief Minister that the accused should receive the death penalty. He assured us that the case would be heard in a fast-track court. I have also been informed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted,” Agarwal said.

Responding to reports suggesting that Siya Goyal allegedly backed out of the marriage after discovering Ketan was bald and wore a wig, Agarwal said the matter had never been hidden from her family.

“We had clearly informed Siya’s family that Ketan used a small hair patch. Is that any reason to kill someone?” he said, adding that it was Siya who had insisted on the trek to Lohagad Fort.

Police sources have indicated that during the investigation, Siya allegedly claimed she did not want to marry Ketan after learning about his hair loss. However, investigators have clarified that while Ketan did wear a hair patch, it cannot be conclusively said that this alone was the motive behind the alleged murder.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described the case as “extremely shocking” and said it should be viewed not only as a criminal case but also as a matter requiring serious social introspection.

Police investigating the case have alleged that Siya Goyal gave a pre-decided signal to co-accused Chetan Chaudhary before he allegedly pushed Ketan into a gorge at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Investigators claim the two initially planned to elope but later decided to kill Ketan, fearing that running away together would bring disrepute to their families.

According to police, both accused initially blamed each other during interrogation before admitting to their involvement in the alleged conspiracy. Investigators claim Siya confessed to planning the murder, while Chetan was involved in its execution. Police allege that Siya was to signal Chetan by sitting down, after which he approached Ketan and allegedly pushed him into the gorge.

Officials further said Ketan was caught completely off guard and had no idea what was about to happen. Police also claim the accused had made earlier attempts to kill him during previous visits to Lohagad Fort.

Meanwhile, Siya Goyal’s father has also sought strict punishment for those responsible, stating that if his daughter is found guilty, she should face the same punishment as any other accused. He described Ketan as “like a son” and said both families had been eagerly preparing for the wedding scheduled for November in Udaipur.

He also denied allegations that his family had concealed information about Siya’s relationship with another person, maintaining that they had no knowledge of any such relationship or problems between the couple. He described Siya as a simple girl who had appeared happy about the upcoming marriage.

The investigation into the murder is continuing, with police examining all evidence and statements recorded from the accused.
