Pune: CCTV Captures Stray Dog Attack On 3 Year Old Girl Playing In Vadgaon Sheri; Youths Rescue Child
Pune, September 26, 2025: The menace of stray dogs in Pune continues to grow, creating fear among residents across several neighborhoods. In a shocking incident from Sopan Nagar in Vadgaon Sheri, a young girl playing in the courtyard of her home was suddenly attacked by a group of stray dogs and left seriously injured.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage, which shows the dogs biting and dragging the child. The terrifying attack could have turned fatal if not for the timely intervention of two youths passing by on a vehicle.
On seeing the girl being mauled, they immediately rushed to her aid, bravely chased away the dogs, and rescued the child. They later handed her over safely to her parents.
The courage and quick thinking of the two youths prevented a major tragedy.
Following the incident, residents have once again raised concerns about the increasing number of stray dog packs in Pune. Many parents are now worried about sending their children out to play alone. Locals have urged the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to take urgent measures to address the stray dog problem.Following a complaint by the residents, PMC picked up five stray canines after the incident from the area. Out of which two are already sterilised while others will undergo sterilisation. All the dogs will also be vaccinated and are kept under observation.
