Pune, September 29, 2025 – The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) continued its crackdown on unauthorized constructions with a major demolition drive in the Kondhwa Khurd and Kondhwa Budruk areas on Monday.
A special squad appointed for the purpose carried out action against three illegal RCC structures. These included two P+3 (ground plus three floors) buildings in Shivneri Nagar, Lane No. 3, Kondhwa Khurd, and another P+3 building in Sant Dnyaneshwar Nagar, Kakade Vasti, Survey No. 5, Kondhwa Budruk. In total, around 5,500 sq. ft. of unauthorized construction was demolished.
The operation was conducted with the assistance of six laborers, five police personnel, one JCB machine, four breakers, two gas cutters, five junior engineers, and two deputy engineers.
PMC officials have declared the partially demolished buildings unsafe and strictly warned citizens against using the structures or purchasing flats in them. “These constructions are now hazardous after the demolition activity. Citizens should refrain from occupying or buying properties in such buildings,” the civic body stated in its appeal.
The action forms part of PMC’s ongoing campaign to curb unauthorized constructions across Pune, aimed at ensuring public safety and discouraging illegal real estate practices.
