Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Senior Supreme Court Lawyer Aashutosh Srivastava To Defend Accused Siya Goyal

Pune, June 26, 2026: A major legal development has emerged in the Ketan Agarwal murder case, with senior Supreme Court advocate Aashutosh Srivastava being appointed to represent the prime accused, Siya Goyal.

Adv. Srivastava officially accepted the brief on Thursday and confirmed that he will represent Goyal in the ongoing proceedings.

Speaking about the case, Srivastava told the media, “The matter is still under investigation. My client, Siya Goyal, is fully cooperating with the investigating agency and will continue to do so. The Indian Constitution guarantees every accused the right to present their defence before a court of law, and we will exercise that right.”

Alleged Murder at Lohagad Fort

The case pertains to the death of 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal, son of Pune-based real estate developer Vishal Agarwal. Ketan was initially believed to have died after accidentally falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort on June 18.

However, the Pune Rural Police later alleged that the incident was a pre-planned murder. According to investigators, Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, lured him to the fort under the pretext of a trek before allegedly pushing him into the gorge.

Both accused have been arrested and charged with murder and criminal conspiracy.

Accused Blame Each Other

During the investigation, the two accused have reportedly shifted the blame onto each other.

According to police, Chetan Chaudhary claimed he wanted to elope with Siya Goyal, but alleged that she insisted on killing Ketan. Goyal, on the other hand, has maintained that the murder plan was conceived by Chaudhary.

Investigators believe the conflicting statements may be part of the accused’s legal defence strategy.

Who Was Ketan Agarwal?

Ketan Agarwal was the son of Pune-based builder Vishal Agarwal. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Symbiosis before pursuing higher studies in the United States. After returning to India two years ago, he joined his family’s construction business and later began developing his own real estate projects.

Ketan got engaged to Siya Goyal in February this year, and the couple was scheduled to marry in November. Police allege that before the wedding could take place, Goyal and her alleged lover conspired to kill him.
