Mumbai/Pune – The monsoon is back in action across Maharashtra after a short break, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a Yellow Alert for 15 districts on Dussehra.

The weather department has warned of heavy to moderate rainfall in parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada, along with cloudy skies and showers in other regions of the state.

According to IMD, Vidarbha will witness the strongest spells of rain, with all 11 districts under Yellow Alert for the next three days. In Marathwada, four districts—Parbhani, Hingoli, Latur, and Nanded—are likely to receive heavy showers, while other areas may see light to moderate rainfall.

In Mumbai and Konkan, the forecast suggests cloudy skies with light to moderate rain. Maximum temperature is expected to hover around 31°C, while minimum temperature will remain near 25°C.

Western Maharashtra will also see widespread showers, with Pune and Sangli receiving light rainfall, and Kolhapur, Satara, and Solapur likely to experience moderate rain.

In North MaharashtraNashik ghat regions may record moderate showers, while Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, and Ahmednagar are expected to get light rain. Temperatures here will range between 25°C and 30°C.

The IMD has advised residents, especially in Vidarbha and Marathwada, to remain cautious as festive travel on Dussehra may be affected by the heavy rain spells.
