UPSC IES ISS Result 2025: Solapur’s Mayuresh Waghmare Secures All India Rank 8, Only Candidate from Maharashtra to Make the Cut
Prestigious Indian Economic Service exam results announced; Waghmare continues a strong family legacy of administration
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results of the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination 2025. Among the 12 candidates recommended for appointment, Solapur’s Mayuresh Bharat Waghmare has made Maharashtra proud by securing All India Rank 8, emerging as the only candidate from the state to crack the IES this year.
The IES/ISS examination was conducted between June 20 and 22, 2025, followed by interviews for the Personality Test in September. The final list of selected candidates, in order of merit, was announced on September 30, 2025. Over 4.3 lakh aspirants appeared for the examination across the country, underlining the achievement’s significance.
Mayuresh hails from a distinguished family of administrators. His father, Bharat Waghmare, currently serves as Additional District Collector at Alibaug in Raigad, while his grandfather, Angad Waghmare, also held the position of Deputy District Collector. Carrying forward this administrative tradition, Mayuresh has carved his own mark with this achievement.

He completed his primary schooling at Suyash Vidyalaya in Solapur and pursued his higher secondary education at Sangameshwar College. Later, he went abroad for higher studies, graduating and completing post-graduation in Agriculture Advanced Economics from the UK.
With this success, Mayuresh Waghmare is likely to be appointed to a high-ranking position under the Union Ministry of Finance or the Reserve Bank of India, marking the beginning of a promising career in public service.
