Pune Municipal Corporation Extends Garden Timings For Kojagiri Purnima Celebration
Pune, October 3, 2025: Pune Municipal Corporation has announced extended timings for public gardens on the occasion of Kojagiri Purnima, observed on Monday, 6 October 2025.
Under Section 66(10) of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act, 1949, it is mandatory to provide public gardens, parks, and open spaces for recreation and entertainment of citizens.
Within the Pune Municipal Corporation jurisdiction, the Garden Department manages 216 gardens, one aquarium, and one zoo, which are frequented by residents, children, and foreign visitors throughout the year. On Kojagiri Purnima, a significant increase in visitors is expected, and citizens are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity.
This year, in line with tradition, all gardens under PMC will remain open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the morning and 4:30 PM to 12:00 midnight in the evening. Pune citizens are invited to enjoy these public spaces during the extended hours and participate in the festivities responsibly.
Dr. Ashok V. Ghorpade, chief garden Superintendent, Garden Department, Pune Municipal Corporation, encourages all residents to take full advantage of this special arrangement.
