Speeding Ertiga Crashes 30 Feet Into The Sea On Mumbai Coastal Road; Driver Rescued, No Casualties
Mumbai, October 7, 2025: A major accident occurred late on Monday night on Mumbai’s Coastal Road near Worli, when a speeding Ertiga car lost control, broke through the road divider, and plunged nearly 30 feet into the sea.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, as the driver was rescued just in time by on-duty.

According to the police, the car was traveling from Mahalaxmi towards Worli when the driver, identified as Frshogor Daryush Battiwala (28), lost control of the vehicle. The car rammed into the divider at high speed before falling into the sea.
Security guards immediately rushed to the spot and managed to save the driver, who sustained minor injuries. He was later taken to a nearby government hospital for treatment.
Police have detained Battiwala and are investigating whether he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. His medical examination has been conducted, and further inquiry is underway by Worli Police.
Meanwhile, the sunken car is yet to be retrieved from the sea. The incident has once again highlighted the growing problem of overspeeding on Mumbai’s Coastal Road, where multiple accidents have been reported in recent days, including a recent case of a car catching fire inside the underground tunnel.
