Pune, October 7, 2025 — Residents of Bavdhan Budruk’s Bunde Vasti, Patil Nagar, Jadhav Vasti, and Gaothan areas have reported several cases of stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea over the past three days. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Health Department has deployed medical teams including MSU staff, nurses, MPWs, and ASHA workers to conduct door-to-door surveys and provide health guidance.

During the survey, residents have been advised to consume boiled and cooled drinking water, use medical-grade chlorine (Medichlor), and take ORS solutions to prevent dehydration. Treatment for affected individuals is being provided at the H.B.P. Tukaram Genuji Wede-Patil Arogya Vardhini Centre.

Officials noted a rise in diarrhoea cases at the local OPD over the past three days. So far, around 43 patients have been reported from the affected localities, most of whom are showing mild symptoms.

While some required basic outpatient treatment, others are recovering without medication.

Water samples from the area were found to be contaminated, prompting the PMC Water Supply Department to ensure clean water distribution. Private medical practitioners also confirmed that patients are showing mild symptoms.

The PMC Health Department has convened a meeting with local private doctors and urged residents to drink only boiled and cooled water and to visit the nearest health centre immediately if symptoms appear. Officials have assured that the situation is under full control.
