Pune: Wakad’s La Melosa Society Comes Together to Support Flood-Affected Families in Maharashtra
Pune, October 10, 2025: Amidst the heavy rainfall and flooding that have severely impacted several parts of Maharashtra, residents of La Melosa Society in Wakad have come forward to extend much-needed support to affected families, setting an example of compassion and community spirit.
Led by society member Nilesh Nighot, along with his friends and family, the initiative saw the collection and delivery of essential supplies to flood-hit regions.
Donation boxes were placed at the La Melosa clubhouse on October 1 and 2, where residents contributed generously.
The items collected included rice, wheat flour, pulses (toor, moong, chana dal), cooking oil, biscuits, poha, sugar, tea powder, toothpaste, soap, blankets, bedsheets, towels, and bed covers.
Several residents actively participated in the collection, packing, and distribution efforts, including Dattatray Ghodekar, Akshay Patil, Santosh Pawar, Rahul Patil, Amit Patil, Yashodeep Patil, Mohit Titarmare, Chetan Bhadane, and Pawan Gawande.
This heartfelt initiative not only provided immediate relief to flood-affected families but also sent a powerful message of unity and humanity. The La Melosa community’s collective effort stands as an inspiring reminder that when people come together, even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
