Pimpri Chinchwad Police Hosts Virtual Town Hall On Cyber Awareness Today
Pimpri Chinchwad, October 14, 2025 – In a significant step toward enhancing digital safety, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police organised a ‘Virtual Town Hall on Cyber Awareness’ on Tuesday. The session will be held between 11 AM and 12:30 PM, bringing together more than 50 institutions including IT companies, corporates, schools, colleges, clubs, and senior citizen groups for an interactive discussion on cyber safety.
The event is led by Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey (IPS), who will interact directly with participants, addressing concerns and gathering suggestions on making Pimpri Chinchwad a ‘Cyber Safe City’. The initiative aligns with the state government’s announcement of October as Cyber Awareness Month, made by Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
During the session, representatives from various organisations will share their challenges and propose collaboration models to strengthen cyber security awareness. The police encourages citizens to actively participate using the hashtag #CyberAwarenessTownhall, posting questions and sharing their ideas online.
To ensure wider engagement, the Police Department has invited others to join by sending a direct message or contacting the control room via WhatsApp at 95296 91966. Selected police station cyber squads are also deployed at different venues to assist citizens during the event.
The townhall emphasised the importance of digital literacy, secure online behaviour, and collective responsibility in combating cybercrime. The Pimpri Chinchwad Police reiterated their commitment to building a safe and vigilant digital ecosystem for all residents.
Together with public participation, the city aims to lead by example in creating a cyber-aware and resilient community.
