Pune: Thief Caught On CCTV Snatching Woman’s Gold Chain In Warje Grocery Shop; Supriya Sule Slams City’s Failing Safety Measures
Pune, October 14, 2025 – A shocking incident of chain-snatching was caught on camera in Pune’s Warje area, further raising concerns about the city’s deteriorating law and order.
The CCTV footage, shared by NCP-SP Working President and Baramati MP Supriya Sule, shows a man entering a grocery shop late at night and fleeing after snatching a woman’s gold chain.
The incident occurred around 10 pm on October 10, when a man wearing a cap and mask walked into the shop and asked one of the two women present for a milk packet.
While pretending to take out money from his wallet, he suddenly grabbed the chain of one of the women and fled the spot. Both women chased him but were unable to catch him.
Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), Supriya Sule expressed deep concern over rising crime in Pune. “This video is from Warje, Pune, in the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. This is another example of how criminals get away with it..! This picture is very unfortunate and disappointing for a city like Pune. I request that the Pune Police Commissioner take this incident seriously. Those who commit crimes in such a manner must be brought to book,” she wrote.
