Marking a major stride in India’s healthcare sector, ICICI Bank has teamed up with the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) to construct a state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility in Navi Mumbai. The upcoming centre, titled the ‘ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology’, will be located at TMC’s Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), and is scheduled for completion by 2027.

This initiative is being made possible through ICICI Bank’s CSR arm, the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, which is contributing a substantial ₹625 crore towards the project. The centre will offer cutting-edge radiation therapies to thousands of patients annually, playing a vital role in expanding access to advanced cancer treatment across the country.

Spread across 3.4 lakh square feet, the building will consist of 11 floors, a ground level, and two basements. It is set to feature 12 highly advanced Linear Accelerators (LINACs), medical devices that deliver precise radiation to cancerous tissues while protecting surrounding healthy areas. Alongside these machines, the facility will house other top-tier cancer care equipment to enhance treatment outcomes.

Once operational, the new block aims to deliver over two lakh radiation sessions to approximately 7,200 patients every year. Additionally, it will cater to 25,000 new patients annually through OPD (outpatient department) consultations and diagnostic services.

This cancer care building is part of ICICI Bank’s larger CSR commitment of ₹1,800 crore to TMC, covering the development of three ultra-modern cancer hospitals — in Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra), Mullanpur (New Chandigarh, Punjab), and Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).

A foundation stone ceremony was held on October 19, 2025, to officially begin construction of the Navi Mumbai facility.

Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Kumar Sinha, Chairman of ICICI Bank, said, “The ‘ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology’ will stand among the country’s largest radiation therapy centres, and its completion will make cutting-edge treatment more accessible to a broader segment of the population.”

Sandeep Batra, Executive Director at ICICI Bank, echoed the sentiment, stating, “Improving cancer care infrastructure is a priority for us. This ₹1,800 crore partnership with Tata Memorial Centre across three locations underlines our long-term dedication to the healthcare needs of the nation.”

Adding his thoughts, Dr. Sudeep Gupta, Director of Tata Memorial Centre, shared, “This generous support will enhance our mission of delivering advanced, compassionate cancer care to those who need it the most across India.”
