Pune: Traffic Advisory Issued By Deccan Traffic Division As Water Pipeline Work Slows Movement Near Sarathi Office
Pune, October 23, 2025: The Pune Traffic Police have issued an advisory alerting motorists about potential congestion on major highways between October 24 and 27. The alert comes in view of increased vehicle movement following the Diwali celebrations.
Commuters have been urged to plan their travel in advance and use public transport wherever possible to avoid delays.
The advisory lists the following highways as likely congestion zones:
Bengaluru–Mumbai National Highway (NH-48): Heavy traffic expected from Kolhapur towards Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Mira-Bhayandar.
Nashik–Pune National Highway (NH-50): Anticipated rise in vehicle movement from Nashik via Chakan towards Pune.
Solapur–Pune National Highway (NH-65): Increased traffic expected from Solapur towards Pune and adjoining regions.
Authorities have appealed to citizens to avoid peak travel hours between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., and to consider alternate routes for smoother travel. Police personnel will be deployed along key stretches to manage vehicle flow and assist in emergencies.
Motorists have been advised to follow traffic rules, maintain lane discipline, and cooperate with on-ground officials.
The advisory was jointly issued by the Superintendent of Police (State Highways, Pune), the Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, emphasizing coordinated efforts to ensure safe and orderly post-festival travel.
