Jellyfish Invasion Causes Discomfort for Tourists at Ganpatipule Beach
With the Diwali holidays in full swing, Ganpatipule Beach has witnessed a surge of visitors eager to enjoy its picturesque coastline.
While many tourists are delighted by the scenic surroundings and the gentle sea, a recent increase in jellyfish along the shore is creating unexpected problems for beachgoers.
Local residents and vendors have reported that contact with these jellyfish results in intense pain. Stings typically leave the skin with small rashes and redness, and the discomfort intensifies if the affected area is rubbed.

As a traditional local remedy, people suggest running a blue thread gently across the sting with the palm to ease the pain.
In some cases, the pain from a jellyfish sting can persist for four to five hours, and affected individuals may also experience fever. Consequently, locals strongly advise anyone who comes into contact with jellyfish to seek medical attention immediately.
Authorities and residents alike are urging tourists to refrain from entering the water until the jellyfish population decreases. Visitors are being cautioned to remain vigilant while enjoying the beach and to prioritize safety over adventure.
