Mumbai, November 2, 2025: The newly opened Malabar Hill Nature Trail has quickly become Mumbai’s favourite monsoon getaway, drawing nearly 3 lakh visitors since its inauguration in March 2025. Offering a peaceful retreat amid lush greenery and sea views, the eco-friendly trail has provided Mumbaikars with a much-needed escape from the city’s chaos.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the nature trail has recorded 2.98 lakh visitors so far, generating a revenue of approximately ₹72 lakh. The monsoon season added to its charm, attracting more than 1.81 lakh visitors between June and September, as per a report by The Free Press Journal.
Inspired by Singapore’s famous forest walkways, the trail features a 485-metre-long and 2.4-metre-wide wooden path, starting near Kamala Nehru Park. Elevated above the ground, it offers panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and ensures the natural ecosystem remains undisturbed. Built using local materials, the walkway allows rainwater to flow naturally and is illuminated with soft lighting that blends seamlessly with its surroundings.
To maintain its tranquil atmosphere, entry is limited to 200 visitors per hour. The trail remains open daily from 5 AM to 8 PM, with tickets priced at ₹25 for local residents and ₹100 for foreign tourists. Due to high demand, booking slots are often reserved weeks in advance.
Despite heavy rainfall during the monsoon, footfall remained consistent, with only a brief dip observed in June. Visitor numbers surged again later in the season, and during the Diwali holidays, many enthusiasts were unable to enter as all slots were fully booked.
With its serene environment, eco-conscious design, and captivating views, the Malabar Hill Nature Trail has firmly established itself as one of Mumbai’s most sought-after destinations this monsoon.
