Pune Metro Reopens Bhide Bridge For Vehicles Till November 15
Pune, November 5, 2025: The Pune Metro authorities have announced that the Bhide Bridge has been reopened for vehicular movement until November 15, providing much-needed relief to daily commuters and local residents.
The bridge, which had been closed for metro construction work, will now allow traffic movement throughout the day until mid-November.
According to the metro officials, the construction of a pedestrian bridge connecting the Deccan Gymkhana Metro Station to the Peth area in Pune is currently underway above the Bhide Bridge on the Mula River. This pedestrian bridge will make it much easier for residents of Narayan Peth, Shanivar Peth, and Laxmi Road, as well as students traveling to this area for education, to access the Deccan Metro Station. During the construction work of this pedestrian bridge, the Bhide Bridge has been closed to traffic for public safety.
However, officials clarified that from November 16 to December 31, the bridge will remain closed for vehicles between 10 PM and 6 AM to facilitate remaining construction and maintenance activities. Daytime access will continue during this period, ensuring minimal disruption to traffic flow.
The prolonged closure of the Bhide Bridge had caused major inconvenience to commuters and residents of nearby areas, forcing them to take longer alternative routes. The reopening is expected to ease congestion in parts of Deccan, Erandwane, and Shivajinagar, which faced heavy traffic diversions over the past few months.
Authorities have urged motorists to follow traffic advisories and cooperate with on-ground staff during the restricted hours. The Pune Metro team has assured that all remaining works on the bridge will be completed by the year-end, after which full access will be restored permanently.
