School Bus Falls into 150-Foot Gorge in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar; One Student Dead, Several Injured
A tragic accident took place in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar district when a school bus carrying over 20 students fell into a 150-foot-deep gorge near Devgoi Ghat on the Akkalkuwa–Molgi road. One student died on the spot, while several others were seriously injured. The injured students were rushed to Akkalkuwa Rural Hospital, where doctors are keeping a close watch on their condition.
Bus loses control on hilly road
The incident happened early Saturday morning in the Devgoi Ghat area. The school bus reportedly lost control while taking a sharp turn and fell around 100–150 feet into a deep valley. The bus was badly damaged by the impact. Locals quickly reached the spot, informed the police, and helped with rescue efforts. Officials confirmed one student’s death and said several others were injured. Parents of the students have been notified, though the victims’ names have not been released yet.
Rescue work continues
Police, local authorities, and fire department teams are carrying out rescue and relief work at the accident site. The steep slopes and narrow roads are making it difficult for teams to reach the wreckage. The cause of the accident is still being investigated, but initial reports suggest the driver may have lost control on the hilly road.
