Maharashtra Weather Alert: Cold Wave ‘Yellow Alert’ Issued for Multiple Districts as Temperatures Dip Sharply
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave “Yellow Alert” for several districts in Maharashtra over the next three days, warning of a significant drop in minimum temperatures across North Maharashtra, Marathwada and parts of Vidarbha.
According to the forecast, Nandurbar, Dhule, Nashik, Jalgaon, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna and Beed districts will experience cold wave conditions on November 17, with night temperatures expected to fall steeply.
Statewide Weather on 15 November
While most of Maharashtra continues to shiver, Mumbai is still awaiting a noticeable winter chill. The city is likely to witness clear and dry weather, with minimum temperatures around 19°C. Similar conditions will prevail across the Konkan region.
Pune, Kolhapur Brace for Cooler Days
Pune will see clear skies, with temperatures ranging between 12°C (minimum) and 30°C (maximum). A further drop in temperatures is expected in the coming days.
In Kolhapur, the minimum temperature will hover around 18°C, while the maximum will be around 30°C.
North Maharashtra Under Cold Wave Grip
North Maharashtra is likely to witness intense cold.
- Jalgaon: Yellow Alert issued for November 15 and 16.
- Nashik: Yellow Alert for November 16, with temperatures expected to fall to 8°C.
Cold Wave Also in Marathwada
Marathwada will experience cold wave-like conditions for the next three days.
- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Yellow Alert for November 16, with minimum temperatures expected to drop to 11°C on November 15.
Vidarbha Continues to See a Sharp Chill
In Vidarbha, cities such as Nagpur and Amravati may record minimum temperatures around 12°C, with clear skies and dry air adding to the chill.
IMD Cautions Citizens
Meteorologists warn that Maharashtra may see a noticeable fall in minimum temperatures over the next three days, with some regions likely touching 7°C to 8°C. Authorities have urged residents to take necessary precautions, especially during early morning and late-night hours.
