Maharashtra Receives PM-KISAN 21st Installment: ₹1,808 Crore Credited To 90 Lakh Farmers
Pune, November 20, 2025: “The Union government and the state government have always stood firmly behind farmers. The 21st installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was disbursed today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, the state government had also provided substantial financial assistance to farmers affected by heavy rains. This new 21st installment will offer urgent financial support to farmers for cultivation, seeds, livelihood and other agricultural needs,” said Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharane.
Under the Union government’s flagship Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, the 21st installment was released today for eligible farmers across the country. The amount will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of millions of farmers. This will significantly help them during the Rabi season. The PM-KISAN scheme was launched to ensure fixed annual income support for farmers. Under the scheme, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 per year, credited directly via DBT in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each.
Agriculture Minister Bharane stated that the 21st installment is crucial for Maharashtra’s farmers as it will support preparations for the Rabi season. He added that timely financial aid from the Union government is vital for income stability and economic security of farmers, and complete transparency and coordination are being maintained in the implementation of the scheme.
According to Minister Bharane, Maharashtra has one of the largest beneficiary bases under PM-KISAN, with a total of 90,41,241 eligible farmer families set to receive approximately ₹1,808.25 crore. The agriculture, revenue and banking departments across all districts are fully prepared to ensure timely disbursement. The government has also provided facilities through its official portal and mobile app for farmers to check whether the installment has been credited.
He further added that PM-KISAN is regarded as the country’s largest direct financial assistance scheme. Regular cash transfers help reduce dependency on loans and support urgent agricultural expenses. Transparent DBT processes, Aadhaar seeding and bank verification have strengthened the scheme. Consistent financial support has provided significant relief to small and marginal farmers, helping them plan their seasonal finances and ensuring economic stability for their families.
