Hinjawadi Sees Another Fatal Crash; College Student Dies After Being Hit by Cement Mixer
Pune, 21 Nobvember – Road accidents in Hinjawadi, especially involving dumpers and cement mixer trucks, continue to rise at an alarming pace. Yet another tragic incident took place on Monday afternoon.
A college student, Rida Khan, died after a speeding cement mixer ran over her on Marunji Road around 1:45 pm. The stretch has already witnessed several fatal crashes in recent months, many of them involving young women.
According to police, Rida was returning from Kasarsai Dam with her friends on a two-wheeler. As they were descending the slope near Shinde Vasti, a fast-moving cement mixer hit their bike. The impact threw both riders onto the road. Rida came directly under the rear wheel of the mixer and died on the spot. Her friend sustained serious injuries.
This incident has once again reignited concerns about the growing number of accidents caused by dumpers and cement mixers in the Hinjawadi region. Hinjawadi Police have launched a search for the driver involved in the crash.
