The viral clip from the Chandrapur–Moharli stretch shows tourists and locals waiting inside their vehicles as the young tiger refuses to move.

A viral video from Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district has once again highlighted the fragile coexistence between humans and wildlife near Tadoba Tiger Reserve. The clip, recorded on the Chandrapur–Moharli road, shows a young tiger, believed to be the cub of tigress Madhu, sitting calmly in the middle of the road, bringing traffic to a standstill for several hours.

The incident took place in the buffer zone of Tadoba, where dense forest cover and frequent animal movement often lead to unexpected encounters. The video was captured by local resident Akash Alam, who was travelling on the route when he came across the tiger blocking the roadway. His footage shows long queues of vehicles, with both villagers and tourists waiting patiently inside their cars as the tiger remained unmoved.

Locals say such wildlife sightings on this road have become increasingly routine, especially during early mornings and late evenings. The Chandrapur–Moharli stretch is a key commuting route for several villages, and the rise in tiger movement has made the road particularly risky for two-wheeler riders. Sudden crossings and prolonged halts increase the chances of accidents, prompting repeated advisories from forest officials.

Authorities have urged travellers to avoid honking, maintain slow speeds, and never step out of their vehicles in such situations. With tiger traffic disrupting human traffic on a regular basis, officials say stricter time restrictions or alternative commuting routes may eventually be considered to improve safety.

The latest incident underscores the delicate balance in eco-sensitive regions like Tadoba, where the protection of wildlife habitats and the safety of local communities must go hand-in-hand.
