Pimpri, December 3, 2025: A potentially life-threatening incident was averted in Vallabhnagar on Tuesday (December 2) evening after the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) Fire Department carried out a swift and coordinated rescue operation. A young man was found attempting to jump from the second floor of a building near Killedar Garden around 5:45 pm. Alert citizens immediately notified the Fire Control Room, following which a rescue team rushed to the spot and safely brought the individual down.

Upon receiving the call, the team from the Pimpri Fire Station quickly assessed the situation on arrival and initiated a structured rescue plan. Acting with precision and composure, the firefighters engaged the distressed individual in conversation, diverted his attention, and waited for the right moment. 

As soon as the team leader signalled, Fireman Deepak Kothe made a swift and calculated move to restrain the youth, preventing him from jumping. The team then safely brought him down to the ground level. The operation was led by Senior Fireman Bhushan Yewle, supported by Firemen Deepak Kothe, Tejas Pawar, Jay Jamadar, Sneha Jagtap, and Driver Vishal Banekar.

The quick response and presence of mind displayed by the team ensured that a major tragedy was prevented. The Fire Department has appealed to citizens to promptly dial 101 on witnessing any such incident to ensure timely intervention.
