Nana Kate Flags Off NCP’s First Ward-Level Campaign for PCMC Elections 2026 in Pimple Saudagar
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) marked a key milestone in Pimpri-Chinchwad’s election season with the launch of its first campaign panel for the 2026 civic polls. The campaign was formally inaugurated on December 21, 2025, in Ward No. 28, Pimple Saudagar–Rahatani.
The panel was launched under the leadership of NCP city campaign chief and former Leader of the Opposition, Vitthal alias Nana Kate. The four official candidates from Ward 28 are:
- Vitthal alias Nana Kate, General (Male)
- Meenakshi Anil Kate, General OBC
- Sheetaltai Nana Kate, General (Female)
- Sayali Umesh Kate, General (Female)
The campaign began with a floral tribute to the statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj , followed by a traditional coconut-breaking ceremony at the Mujoba Maharaj temple, the village deity of Pimple Saudagar. A foot march then commenced from the Pimple Saudagar gaothan, moving through the locality with the participation of residents and party workers.
During the procession, citizens welcomed the candidates with traditional aarti at several points, reflecting strong local support. The campaign rally received an enthusiastic response from residents across the area.
Addressing the gathering, Nana Kate highlighted that while most wards in the city have panels comprising two men and two women as per the 50 percent reservation norm, Ward 28 stands out as the only ward with a panel of three women and one man. He appealed to voters to support the NCP panel with a decisive majority, calling it a model of inclusive representation for the entire city.
The event marked the official beginning of the NCP’s ward-level campaign in pimpri Chinchwad, setting the tone for the upcoming municipal elections under the banner of the NCP
